Message from Geoff Hardy

Bassett has achieved remarkable growth over the last few years partly as a result of our merger with AECOM and partly as a continuity of the entrepreneurial spirit established 78 years ago by Sir Walter Bassett.

That growth requires us to be constantly relevant to the needs of our clients.  As this is an ever changing landscape, our success is therefore measured by our ability to cope with change and to adapt to the circumstances which face us.

Paramount amongst these forces is the current effects of global warming.

We as Mechanical & Electrical Engineers are in a unique position to adopt a leadership role in identifying and fostering those things which are necessary to cope with and deal with the effects of climate change.

Across this region of the world in AECOM we have established a Sustainability Governance Group to manage that leadership role.  We do this in two ways, firstly in living Sustainability values in our every day life and secondly, in embedding Sustainability concepts in the design work which we undertake.

I know that the global warming challenge and the international business climate we face will both be met by our people.  Our people provide that link between the aspirations of our company and the real world and I look to each and everyone of us to rise to that challenge.
