Brief AECOM History
AECOM was formed following an employee and management purchase of the company's predecessor, the Ashland Technology Corporation, from Ashland, Inc. in 1985. Since it was launched as an independent company in 1990, AECOM has become one of the largest design organisations in the world. AECOM has grown and diversified through corporate expansion and acquisition activities to significantly broaden the company's business lines and geographic reach.
