Peter is a national expert in acoustic engineering. Peter holds a doctorate in acoustics and is a particular expert in theatre design, exhibition acoustics and the acoustic aspects of the growing trend of integrating of public and office spaces. Peter is based in our Adelaide office, and is responsible for the research and development program for Bassett Acoustics through our specialist research division, Bassett Applied Research. Peter has been recognized for his innovation, holding a patent for a noise attenuating product, was the recipient of the David Bies prize for excellence in acoustics, awarded by his peers in South Australia, and was responsible for the design and implementation of the award winning acoustic upgrade of the Adelaide Festival Theatre.

Peter has been a consulting acoustical engineer since 1976 in architectural, building services and environmental acoustics. Peter has undertaken four overseas study tours; US and Canada on theatre acoustics, 1986; specialist space acoustics, Singapore, Europe, UK and US, 1993; electro-acoustic enhancement systems for performing art theatres to US Canada, UK and Europe, 1998, and specialist exhibition space acoustics in United Kingdom and United States in 1999.
