Civil & Mechanical Design of District Cooling Distribution Network
We were commissioned by Tabreed National Central Cooling Co, a major District Cooling provider in Dubai & Abu Dhabi, to undertake the detailed design and supervise construction of several district cooling distribution networks to service the following new Dubai Metro Stations:
- Jebel Ali Port
- Jebel Ali Industrial
- Dubal
- Ibn Battuta
- Jumeira Island-o-Marina
- Jumeira Lake Towers
- Burj Al Arab
- Al Quoz
- Al Garhoud
The District Cooling Distribution Network will provide centralised cooling to all Metro stations to international standards with an initial total of 11,200 RT of district cooling requirements delivered from five district cooling plants via 15km of pre- insulated buried steel distribution piping. There is also the potential of offering centralised cooling to all development projects undertaken along with the metro stations.
Maunsell are involved in the detailed design and tendering of the works including;
- Conceptual Design
- Detailed Coordination with Infrastructure
- Hydraulic Design with detailed computer analysis
- Structural Design with detailed computer Stress Analysis
- Preparation of Tender and Construction Documentation
- Prequalification of suitable contractors
- Management of Tender Process
- Tender Assessment
Maunsell's scope also includes site supervision and administration of the construction of the distribution network.
