We were commissioned by the Dubai Holdings Group to carry out the Detailed Design for the Dubai Studio City which is a significant development project of Dubai Media City.

This project involves taking the Master Plan as developed by HOK and completing the Architectural, MEP and Civil Detail Design both encompassing and complying with all of Dubai Studio City priorities as the Land Developer.

The primary goal of the development is to establish the context for an entirely new industry in Dubai Film Production and related Television and Video Production. Secondary development on the Dubai Studio City site is most important to the extent that it supports Film Industry requirements.

To meet the primary and secondary priorities the facilities that will be offered by the facility are to include:

• Detailed co-ordination of all services and infra-structure associated with into side wide District Cooling distribution System with a total capacity of 80,000 RT of Cooling.
• Residential development for production staff and workers who come to Dubai to work within the film studio and its associated businesses.
• Commercial office development focused on media companies and independent production offices that support and complement the basic film industry.
• The "Village Centre" for the project based on entertainment cinema complex, restaurants, theatres and festival retail.
• These entertainment uses are anchored by a permanent, enclosed 10,000 seat amphitheatre for large performance events.
• Other uses for the site include a series of "boutique" studio offices that provide an excellent start-up environment for independent production companies.
• A Film Academy located in close proximity to the studio gates.
