Roma Street Parklands

Roma Street Parklands

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Client:
Queensland Government

Value:
$70 Million

Architect:
Edaw Gillespie/Landplan/Middleton Associates

Client Needs:
To provide the revitalization of 16 hectares of central Brisbane industrial land back to the people of Brisbane in the form of a subtropical public parkland.

Bassett Solution:
Bassett was appointed for the mechanical, electrical, fire and acoustic services.

The challenge was to ensure the engineering services and in particular, engineering plant and equipment did not detract from the visual experience of the parkland.

Value to Client:
The parkland features spectacular horticultural displays.  It is an exciting and bustling area of activity with markets, events and colour.  It is an open parkland for rest, retreat and recreation.  It is a place where our history is celebrated and our future is anticipated.  It is a place of learning and living.  It is a place different to any other in Queensland

Bassett was a key contributor to this project from the original concept/ masterplanning through detailed design and documentation into construction.

Bassett were able to successfully integrate the engineering services, plant and equipment through the parkland in a fashion which allowed discrete integration with structural elements without compromising the visual experience.
