Client Needs:
To provide a multi function development incorporating rehearsal spaces for dance, music and theatre, retail studio apartments and art galleries.
Bassett Solution:
Bassett was appointed for the mechanical, electrical, fire and acoustic services. The acoustic services were challenging and entailed working with the existing lightweight structure whilst catering for the diverse range of user groups and minimising the impact of the various activities on each group.
The mechanical services design also incorporated specialist spaces such as the performance space, art galleries and rehearsal areas and the diversity of conditions required for these areas
Key elements of the design were not only the functionality of the electrical services but also their aesthetic impact on the various spaces.
Value Added: Flexible and practical performance spaces were provided whilst remaining mindful of the budget constraints associated with this modern arts project.
Clearly defined production, communications and lighting requirements delivered value for money outcomes during construction.
